Clinical Hypnotherapist, Counsellor and Psychotherapist
As a university and college lecturer in marketing and business studies, I became increasingly interested in specialising in psychology through teaching the application of theorists in psychoanalysis and behaviorism within a marketing and business perspective. This led me to embark on the study of counselling and psychotherapy and I became a qualified clinical Hypnotherapist, Counsellor and Psychotherapist, accredited by the Open University.
I am a Member of the National Hypnotherapy Society, the National Counselling Society and a senior of the General Hypnotherapy Register. I am also a registered Supervisor and able to support other hypnotherapists in their work. I am committed to continuous professional development and regularly attend workshops in the varying areas of treatment.
I regularly attend workshops and master classes and I have a Diploma as an Alcohol Control Therapist. I have also attended courses at Brighton University dealing with phobias. I have attended master classes in London dealing with Insomnia, Pain Management and helping cancer sufferers. I am also a registered specialist in Smoking Cessation, whether it be tobaccos or other addictive substances, through the London College of Clinical Hypnotherapy.
I have expertise in dealing with Anxiety, stress and depression which is an area that is of particular interest to me and I am conducting research through the University of Bolton into the role of academic staff in a university campus setting and how this impacts on their wellbeing. I have also studied regression techniques in order to help individuals solve the problems that may stem from their past.
I have always been interested in helping people and understanding human behaviour. Hypnotherapy is a wonderfully powerful healing tool through relaxation techniques that help in the relief of stresses and tensions of everyday life. Depression, traumas, habits and phobias can be manifested from these stresses. I work with clients through hypnotherapy and counselling to build a meaningful and interactive relationship and develop a tailored treatment especially to suit my client’s needs.
I have helped many individuals cope with and eliminate depression and anxiety as well as finding solutions to their relationship problems, whatever form the relationship is based upon.
I am the chair person for “The South London Counselling and Hypnotherapy Group” which is a peer group which meets regularly in Sidcup, Kent, to discuss issues and support therapists in their work.
I am a past Leader (Chair) of the Kent Branch of “Women in Rural Enterprise” (WIRE), which is a national networking organization devoted to helping and supporting women in small businesses.
